Workers in Delta Implores Workers To Comply With Vaccination Directive
ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Head of Service, Mr. Reginald Bayoko has said the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination exercise for all civil servants is part of the Delta State Government efforts at protecting the lives of its citizenry against the deadly pandemic.
Bayoko stated this last Friday while speaking with some journalists on the recent circular letter issued by his office, directing permanent secretaries and heads of extra ministerial departments to ensure that all civil servants in the various ministries, departments and agencies of government were vaccinated against COVID-19.
He explained that the third wave of the virus was virulent, disclosing that the Delta State Government had made adequate provision for residents of the state including all civil servants to be vaccinated.
While allaying the fears of civil servants, the HOS said that there was nothing to be afraid of as the vaccine was healthy and safe, adding that as the number one civil servant in the state, himself and members of his family had been administered with the first and second dose of the vaccine.
Similarly, he disclosed that the State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, members of his family and members of the State Executive Council had also been administered with vaccines.
He called on government workers to comply with the directive in the interest of public health and safety, even as he reminded workers that they had sworn an oath to obey all legitimate and lawful directives of government.
