We Will Only Support PDP in 2023 – Community Leaders

ABAVO/Nigeria: As the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Ward-to-Ward Campaign, gathers momentum, Deltans have expressed their readiness to vote for all the candidates of the party in the 2023 General Elections.

A cross-section of PDP supporters who spoke when the trail of the State Party Campaign Council for Delta North visited the last wards of Ika South Local Government Area, said the party has since inception impacted their communities.

According to them, before the government of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, their communities, which comprise Abavo and Ekuku-Agbor had no road, as it was difficult for them to ply their economic trades.

Speaking on behalf of the party members, the Ward Chairman of Ward 10, in Okpe-Abavo, Mr. John Igumoji, informed the visiting campaign council that the PDP government had improved the living conditions of the community with the provision of road, restoration of electricity, and provision of transformers, health facilities and other necessities of life. He ended up assuring the party of total support from the members of the Ward and the entire community.

“The PDP had provided us with good conditions of life, especially with the government of Senator, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, our roads, which for many years were in a bad condition, are now tarred with good drainage networks.”

“Before now, there was no electricity in our community, as there was no transformer, the PDP has restored electricity to the entire community, the health and education facilities had all improved or where it did not exist, the government had made provision for such.”

“Because of the good things we had enjoyed over the years under the PDP, I can tell you, every vote from this ward will be delivered. I assure you of this. Every candidate of our great party will get our total votes. None will miss.” He added.

On his part, the leader of the Hausa community Alhaji Usman Alassa, in Ward 12, praised the party’s administration since 1999, saying it’s the only party that is focused, and caring.

He stated that he and his people who are close to 200 live in the Abavo community, had been living peacefully amongst the people, and the infrastructure in the area used to be very bad until Governor Okowa’s government started the road works in the community.”

Alhaji Alassa stated that his people in the area are fully mobilised, and their support is for Atiku-Okowa, Sheriff-Onyeme in 2023, including the other candidates.

“The Hausa community in Abavo is for the PDP. The party had been good to members of the community. The Party under Okowa is working. The infrastructure in Abavo use to be bad. But today, things have improved.”

“I had lived in this community for about 40 years, and I know how the roads use to be, it was difficult to move, especially when it comes to the use of bicycles or motorcycles. But today, it is now passable. All thanks to PDP, and Okowa.

“In 2023, I am giving you our assurance, we will vote for Atiku Abubakar, Ifeanyi Okowa, and other PDP candidates.”

“This is because, the PDP is the only serious party, not APC or any other party.” He added.

In an interview with a lady, Madam Caroline Isioma in Ward 12, who was not in the rally ground, she confirmed the love the community has for the party, and the Governor.

“This community is for PDP, they don’t need to hold any rallies or come around to campaign. Their votes are very intact.”

“You can see the pieces of evidence with the roads, we had benefited. We will vote for PDP, Atiku Abubakar, Ifeanyi Okowa and every other candidate of the party not just in this Ward, but the entire community.” She said.

Earlier, the Deputy Chairman of the PDP in Delta North, Elder Moses Iduh, reminded the party faithful to go out to campaign to Neighbours and friends to vote for the party in 2023.
