Ukwuani LGA Chairman Inaugurates 36-Member Strategic Policy Council to Drive Equitable Development

OBIARUKU/Nigeria: The Executive Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government Area, Hon. (Barr.) C.S. Possible Ajede, has inaugurated the 36-member Ukwuani Strategic Policy Council, tasking the team with the development of strategies for effective resource management and equitable distribution of the LGA’s commonwealth.

During the inauguration ceremony, Barr. Ajede emphasized that the establishment of the Strategic Policy Council is a key component of the #DoMoreAgenda, aimed at advancing the socio-economic landscape of Ukwuani. He highlighted that the Think-Tank, composed of seasoned professionals from various fields, has been assembled to craft a comprehensive working document that aligns with the aspirations and needs of the Ukwuani people.

Outlining the council’s mandate, Barr. Ajede stated that the terms of reference include the formulation of policies that address both the immediate and future needs of Ukwuani Local Government Area. The council is charged with deploying strategies that uplift all Ukwuani communities and ensuring that the voices of every citizen are heard and respected.

“It is the responsibility of this Think-Tank Council to develop a roadmap that ensures the local government’s resources are well-managed and to establish modalities for the equitable distribution of our commonwealth among all Ukwuani communities. This will strengthen our unity and ensure that every part of the LGA feels a deep sense of belonging and satisfaction,” Ajede asserted.

The #DoMoreAgenda torchbearer, Barr. Ajede, further tasked the council to focus on critical thematic areas, including peace and security, agriculture and industries, environment, primary healthcare, human capital development, infrastructure, fiscal policy, social development, and entrepreneurship. He expressed confidence in the council’s ability to develop innovative strategies that will drive sustainable development across these sectors.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Ukwuani Strategic Policy Council, Ven. Frank Emeni, praised the Executive Chairman for entrusting them with this significant responsibility. He assured Barr. Ajede that the council is fully committed to delivering on its mandate, recognizing the importance of well-crafted policies in shaping the future of the LGA.

Ven. Frank Emeni also pledged that the council members would utilize the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of Ukwuani citizens, emphasizing their dedication to the task ahead.

The members of the Ukwuani Strategic Policy Council include distinguished professionals and leaders such as Ven. Frank Emeni (Coordinator), Mr. Friday Onyemechi Ugbe (Deputy Coordinator), High Chief Timothy Umukoro (Secretary), and numerous professors, high chiefs, and industry experts, all of whom bring a wealth of experience to the council’s mission.

The council’s formation marks a significant step in the Ukwuani Local Government’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable development, with the expectation that the council’s efforts will lead to lasting positive change for all Ukwuani communities.
