Ukwuani Council to Launch 24-Hour Mobile Clinics
OBIARUKU/Nigeria: In a bid to improve primary healthcare delivery in Ukwuani Local Government Area, the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Barr) C.S. Ajede Possible, has announced plans to launch 24-hour mobile clinics as part of his administration’s #DoMoreAgenda. This initiative aims to provide accessible healthcare services to all residents, regardless of their location within the LGA.
Barr Ajede disclosed the plans during a meeting with the Executive Secretary of the Ukwuani Primary Health Care Authority (PHCA), Dr. Oshike Azuka, and other health officials at his office. He explained that the mobile clinic project was designed to bring healthcare services directly to the people’s doorsteps, including markets, churches, schools, and even private homes. The clinics will also be equipped to respond to emergencies at any time.
“The mobile clinics will cover the entire LGA, ensuring that healthcare is available at all times and in all places,” Ajede said. He further noted that the initiative includes engaging additional doctors and nurses to ensure efficient round-the-clock operations of the mobile clinics.
“We are making arrangements to hire more medical personnel to work alongside our current doctors and nurses, ensuring seamless service delivery,” he added.
Ajede emphasized that the initiative is not politically motivated but is rooted in a genuine commitment to serve the Ukwuani people and improve their access to quality healthcare. He pointed out that the project aligns with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s efforts to enhance healthcare across Delta State.
As the mobile clinic project gears up for its official launch, the Council Chairman called on health officers to prepare for the increased responsibilities. Following the mobile clinics’ inauguration, the council plans to embark on a comprehensive overhaul of the local health sector.
Dr. Oshike Azuka, Executive Secretary of the Ukwuani PHCA, lauded the council chairman’s initiative, describing it as a step towards global healthcare standards. He also expressed gratitude for the chairman’s ongoing support, including fencing health centers and backing various PHCA programs during his first term.
With the launch of the mobile clinics, Ukwuani LGA is set to enhance healthcare delivery and ensure that all residents have access to medical services, no matter where they are located.
