OWA-OYIBU/Nigeria: The Director General/Coordinator, Teachers Professional Development Center (TPDC), Dr. Anthony Dibashi, has admonished the recently deployed staff of the TPDC to be proactive in the discharge of their duties in order to make the institution effectively functional.
He also stated during the first interactive meeting with the staff held at the office complex of TPDC, Owa-Oyibu, that the Institution was purposely designed for the training and retraining of teachers for the improvement of the quality of education across the state and the country in general.
Speaking on the structure and functions of the TPDC, the Senior Special Assistant to the SSG, Dr. Godwin Edozie commended the governor for making the dream which was conceived in 2016 during an educational summit, a reality by establishing the Teachers Professional Development Center located at Owa-Oyibu, Ika North-East.
Dr Edozie, charged the staff to keep the institution busy while highlighting some of the areas of their duties to include; Registration and Licensing of Teachers across the state, coordination of the training and retraining of Teachers, Liaising with the other relevant MDA’s and Documentation of the training events.
He urged the staff to also reach out to other States across the nation to gain their patronage in training their Teachers. He added that the Director General has the right to order the job schedule of every staff based on their area of capabilities.
