Tompolo, Others Lauded for Advancing Delta’s Riverine Communities

WARRI/Nigeria: Renowned human and environmental rights activist, Comrade Sheriff Mulade, has commended High Chief Dr. Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, alongside Engr. Mathew Tonlagha, Managing Director of Maton Oil and Gas Services Ltd, and High Chief Engr. Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Limited, for their contributions to the development of riverine communities in Delta State.

Mulade, a respected peace and development advocate from Delta State, hailed these prominent sons of the ancient Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South-West Local Government Area for spearheading infrastructural initiatives and human empowerment programs that have positively impacted coastal communities. He described their efforts as critical components of their corporate social responsibility to the region.

As the United Nations Peace Ambassador and Ibe-Serimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Chief Mulade urged all sons and daughters of riverine communities to support these leaders in their quest to expand development infrastructure and foster economic growth. He praised the ongoing surveillance operations of Tantita Security, emphasizing their importance in safeguarding the region.

“It is imperative to state that the coastal communities, which are the backbone of the nation’s economy, have been largely neglected by the federal and state governments despite their immense contributions. These communities have endured severe environmental degradation from oil and gas pollution, marine erosion, and the loss of traditional fishing and farming rights,” Mulade stated.

He further expressed his gratitude to Tompolo, Engr. Tonlagha, and Engr. Pondi for their dedication to revitalizing the region. “I sincerely commend their commitment to the infrastructural revolution and human empowerment in our riverine communities. I am particularly thankful for their efforts through the Tantita Security Surveillance Contracts, which have been instrumental in protecting our environment and securing a sustainable future for the Niger Delta.”

Mulade appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to sustain the Tantita security surveillance contracts, highlighting their role in boosting oil production and maintaining peace in the Niger Delta. “This initiative is vital not just for the region but for the nation’s economic stability,” he concluded.
