Teachers’ Award, Designed To Acknowledge Their Impactful Contributions To Societal Development – Ezewu

ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu has said that the Teachers award ceremony billed to hold in the state on October 5, 2022, is designed for the recognition of teachers for their impactful contributions to societal development.

According to Mrs. Ezewu, the event would be a veritable platform to reward those that had distinguished themselves in their teaching career.

She said that stakeholders had assessed the performances of teachers over time, particularly within the period under review, adding that teachers that would receive merit awards at the ceremony were found worthy of the honour

Mrs. Ezewu, commended the State Governor, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa for his administration’s giant strides in the education sector noted that the administration since its inception in 2015 had provided a conducive teaching and learning environment for teachers and students/pupils in the state.

She also stated that the governor had provided the Teachers Professional Development Centre (TPDC) at Owa-Oyibu in Ika North East Local Government Area purposefully for the capacity development of teachers.

The Commissioner, however, admonished teachers in the state to redouble their commitments to duty, saying that the reward of teachers was no longer in heaven but here on earth.
