SMEDAN DG Spreads Christmas Cheer in Aniocha South with Food Distribution
OGWASHI-UKU/Nigeria: The Director General of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), Mr. Charles Odii, brought the spirit of Christmas to the constituents of Aniocha South Local Government Area, Delta State, with a generous distribution of food items in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope mantra.
Demonstrating goodwill and commitment to grassroots engagement, Odii distributed 27 units of 25kg bags of rice and 300 units of 10kg bags to the 11 wards of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Aniocha South. Additionally, 200 more bags of 10kg rice were given to constituents across the community, totaling 500 bags of 10kg rice.
Speaking at the event, Odii encouraged the people to maintain hope, emphasizing that the Renewed Hope agenda was making meaningful strides toward national development. He noted that the challenges facing the country were largely due to corruption pushing back against reforms rather than policy missteps.
“The policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are what we need at this time to grow as a nation,” Odii said. “I urge everyone to support the president’s efforts to build a better Nigeria for the future. Corruption fights back when it is being challenged, and this is the reality we are witnessing today.”
He also urged constituents to celebrate the holiday season safely, reflecting on the true meaning of Christmas: the birth of Jesus Christ.
Receiving the rice on behalf of the APC members in Aniocha South, Comrade Norbert Akachukwu Sochukwudima, Chairman of the local chapter, expressed gratitude for Odii’s gesture, describing it as a significant step toward strengthening the Renewed Hope agenda at the grassroots.
“In all honesty, this is a clear sign of many more things to come. Hope is alive, just like the agenda of our dear president,” Sochukwudima said.
“What the DG of SMEDAN has done by reaching out to the grassroots, particularly the executive members of the APC across the 11 wards of Aniocha South, is truly commendable. The rice has been evenly distributed, and many are leaving here happy.”
Youth leader Comrade Austin Utulu also praised the initiative, highlighting its impact on the community. “At least this time, the people will smile because something like this has never happened before,” Utulu said.
The event, held at the APC Secretariat on December 25, 2024, was marked by gratitude and optimism, with party members and constituents lauding Odii for his commitment to alleviating economic challenges and spreading Christmas joy.
