Sir Tonna Okei Applauds HRM Dr. Benjamin Keagborekuzi for Development Efforts in Agbor Kingdom

AGBOR-ALIDINMA /Nigeria: Grand Knight Emeritus, Sir Tonna Okei, has expressed deep gratitude to His Royal Majesty (HRM), Dr. Benjamin Keagborekuzi Ikenchukwu, for his historic working visit to the Alidinma community, part of the esteemed Agbor Kingdom. The monarch’s visit was marked by the commissioning of the Agbor-Alidinma New Town Hall, a significant milestone for the community.

In a statement released on Monday, September 23, 2024, and personally signed by him, Sir Tonna Okei praised the Dein of Agbor as a revered traditional leader who deeply cares for his subjects. He highlighted the monarch’s extraordinary commitment to the well-being of his people, both at home and abroad. “His selfless service and dedication to royal duties continue to inspire and uplift the Agbor Kingdom,” Okei noted.

He further commended Mr. Chiedu Ebie, Chairman of the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and an illustrious son of Alidinma, for his efforts in attracting development to both the community and the wider Ika nation. Sir Okei emphasized that Ebie’s leadership has elevated Alidinma’s profile, making him a true ambassador of the Ika people.

Reflecting on the visit, Sir Okei remarked, “HRM Dein Keagborekuzi has redefined leadership, upholding the sanctity of the traditional stool with integrity, honesty, and respect for the rule of law.

His most recent visit underscores his unwavering commitment to the Agbor Kingdom and the well-being of its people.”

Sir Okei, a cultural enthusiast and member of the Board of the Knights of Columbus, also acknowledged the monarch’s global influence. He recalled HRM Dein’s participation in a Zoom meeting with leaders from South Carolina, USA, during the racial tensions in the country.

“His Majesty’s call for peace during that period left a lasting impact. His wisdom and cultural diplomacy earned him the South Carolina Legislative Award in 2023,” Okei said.

The Grand Knight also paid homage to his maternal uncle, the Oriri of Agbor-Alidinma, praying for his long and fruitful reign. He lauded his uncle, Chief John Ehikwe (Ukpe Chukwu Munye), for his tireless dedication to the progress of Alidinma.

In his concluding remarks, Sir Okei reiterated his pride in being a son of Alidinma, expressing gratitude to his mother, Lady Felicia Okei, who instilled in him the rich history of their maternal home. “May God bless Agbor, may God bless the Oriri, and may God bless the people of Alidinma,” he prayed.

Sir Okei’s statement serves as a call to action, urging the community to continue supporting their revered monarch and the leaders working tirelessly to uplift Agbor and its people.
