Senator Ned Nwoko’s Anioma State Bill Passes First Reading in Senate

ABUJA/Nigeria: In a notable legislative development, Senator Ned Nwoko’s bill advocating for the creation of Anioma State has successfully passed its first reading in the Senate. Representing the Delta North senatorial district, Senator Nwoko proposes to reorganize the nine local government areas currently in Delta North to form Anioma State.

The proposed Anioma State would include Aniocha North, Aniocha South, Ika North-East, Ika South, Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West, Oshimili North, Oshimili South, and Ukwuani, with Asaba designated as the state capital.

“This marks a crucial step in the legislative process,” Senator Nwoko stated, emphasizing the importance of this development in bringing his vision for state creation closer to reality. The bill will now proceed to further readings and deliberations in the Senate.
