Renowned Delta Activist Urges Governor for Development Surge

WARRI/Nigeria: Comrade Mulade Sheriff, the National Coordinator of the Center for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ), has call on the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori. Chief Mulade emphasized the urgent need for substantial infrastructural development in the oil-rich state, leveraging its abundant resources.

Addressing a gathering, he called upon political appointees to offer insightful, people-centric counsel to the governor to propel the state towards unprecedented growth and prosperity. He stressed that the success of Governor Oborevwori’s administration hinges on the collective dedication of political appointees to prioritize the welfare of Deltans over personal gain.

Furthermore, Chief Mulade implored these officials to adopt a bold stance, advocating for projects that transcend political divides and foster genuine socio-economic progress. He underscored the importance of placing Delta State’s interests above all else, urging a shift towards a mindset reminiscent of global development hubs like Dubai, the UK, and the USA.

Expressing dismay over Delta State’s absence from the top 10 ranking in the 2023 Report on Nigeria’s subnational Ease of Doing Business (EoDB), Chief Mulade highlighted the state’s unsettling position as the second most indebted among Nigerian states. Despite receiving the highest allocation in the Federation, he lamented the lack of tangible development, citing a discrepancy that is both disappointing and concerning.

Chief Mulade’s impassioned plea serves as a clarion call for transformative action, urging Governor Oborevwori and his administration to harness Delta State’s potential for the betterment of its citizens and the attraction of global investment.
