PUBLIC ALERT: NDDC Chairman’s Instagram Hacked, Facebook Account Cloned
PORT HARCOURT/Nigeria: The office of the Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has issued a public alert regarding the hacking of Mr. Chiedu Ebie’s Instagram account and the cloning of his Facebook account. Both accounts are operating under the name “Chiedu Ebie Esq.”
This disclosure was made in a statement released by Jerome Utomi, the Media Aide to the Chairman, on Friday, September 6, 2024, to Ndokwa Reporters Online.
According to the statement, the accounts have been compromised by unidentified individuals, with the Facebook account specifically cloned by fraudsters attempting to mislead the public into fraudulent contractual dealings.
The office confirmed that efforts are ongoing to recover the compromised accounts and cautioned the public against engaging in any communication or transactions with the scammers.
The statement assured that an official update will be provided once the accounts are fully recovered and secured but stressed that Mr. Ebie will not be held accountable for any consequences resulting from unauthorized interactions with these fraudulent platforms.
