Prostar Sports International Partners ‘Pad Me A Girl’ Initiative to Promote Menstrual Health Awareness

LAGOS/Nigeria: In a significant boost to efforts promoting menstrual health awareness, Prostar Sports International, a leading sports equipment and apparel company, has partnered with the ‘Pad Me A Girl Initiative’ to support young girls and empower them with essential menstrual health education.
The project, conceptualized by Gatmash Media, has commended Prostar Sports International for its role in the initiative, with the company providing customized shirts to promote the cause. The shirts, featuring a bold design with the initiative’s logo, are made from high-quality, breathable fabric, symbolizing solidarity and comfort for the beneficiaries.
Theresa Moses, Convener of the Pad Me A Girl Initiative, expressed excitement over the collaboration. “We’re thrilled to have Prostar Sports International on board this initiative. Their customized shirts will not only promote our cause but also serve as a symbol of solidarity with the girls we’re working to support,” she said.
Mr. Paul Maduakor, CEO of Prostar Sports International, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to social impact. “At Prostar Sports International, we believe in empowering young girls and promoting menstrual health awareness. We’re proud to support the Pad Me A Girl Initiative and contribute to a more inclusive and supportive community,” he stated.
The Pad Me A Girl Initiative has already made remarkable strides, reaching over 2,000 young girls and women across Abuja and Benue’s Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps. Through the distribution of reusable sanitary pads and menstrual health education, the initiative is helping young girls manage their periods with dignity, while working to eliminate the stigma surrounding menstruation.
Building on its success, the initiative plans to launch the next phase in June/July 2025, expanding its reach under the ‘Access PAD Me A Girl’ PAD Bank. The program will continue to provide free sanitary pads monthly to girls, reinforcing efforts to ensure that no girl is held back because of her period.
