Poly Students Advised To Shun Vices

OGWASHI-UKU/Nigeria: Mass Communication students of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, have been advised to shun social vices capable of destroying their future.
The Head of the Department of Mass Communication, Dr Joy Anho, gave the advice during the Association of Mass Communication Students (AMCOS) orientation programme at Ogwashiuku.
She said students should avoid unnecessary fun that leads to destruction, adding they should know the purpose of coming to the institution.
Dr Anho urged students to respect constituted authority, follow proper channels in solving their problems, saying anyone that wants to succeed as a mass communicator must follow the normal channels of communication.
Dr Emmanuel Akpoveta, Mr Chike Nwabudike, and Mr Kenneth Oyem, among other lecturers at the programme equally called on the students to be law-abiding.
The AMCOS President, Comrade Blessing Usiagbada, in her speech, lauded the lecturers for their care for students.
She urged the students to work hard, explaining that working hard is the wheel on which success rotates.
She called on students to take advantage of their coming to the institution to study and lay solid foundation for a better tomorrow, reminding them that mass communication was not a tea party and that they needed to study hard.
