PDP Presents party’s flag to Jaro Egbo ….Party Leadership Confident as Elections Approach
UGHELLI/Nigeria: The Delta State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Barr Kingsley Esiso, has confidently asserted that the PDP is the most established political party in Delta State as the council elections approach.
Esiso stated this at the presentation of the party’s flag to Olorogun Jaro Egbo and his running mate, Mrs. Meg Atano, as the party’s official candidates for the upcoming July 13 elections, at a rally in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Esiso presented
“Delta State is PDP and PDP is Delta State,” Esiso declared. “We are the only party that can effectively manage the state because we are deeply rooted in the community. Now that elections are around the corner, our opponents may be vocal, but we are prepared to triumph on election day because we know how to govern.”
Esiso criticized the federal government led by the All Progressives Congress (APC), highlighting the economic challenges faced by Nigerians. “Today, in this great country called Nigeria, we have in Abuja the APC-led federal government, and obviously, Nigerians are suffering. Prices of goods and services have gone beyond the reach of the common man. Our mothers can no longer afford basic commodities like tomatoes, yet some still support the APC,” he remarked.
Emphasizing the local support for the PDP candidates, Esiso expressed confidence in Egbo and his team. “By the grace of God, the people of Ughelli North will come out and vote for Olorogun Jaro Egbo and his councilors because they are good people. We are presenting the symbol of our great party to Jaro Egbo, believing in his capacity, ability, and competence to lead the council effectively. None of you will fail.”
During the rally, Engr. Christabel Obiuwevbi, Delta Central Director of the DLA, echoed Esiso’s sentiments, noting the impressive turnout as a sign of the PDP’s dominance. “The large turnout of people is a testament to the fact that the APC and other political parties are already crying in defeat. The PDP is a unified party, and the priority of Jaro Egbo is security, education, and empowerment. His candidature is generally accepted by the party as a divine choice,” Obiuwevbi stated.
