PDP Governors Applaud Oborevwori’s Infrastructural Strides, Reaffirm Party’s Strength
ASABA/Nigeria: Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum and Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, has commended Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for his administration’s massive infrastructural development across the state.
Governor Mohammed gave the commendation on Thursday night during a state banquet organized for members of the PDP Governors’ Forum ahead of their meeting scheduled for Friday at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Asaba.
He praised Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to delivering impactful projects, describing Delta State as a model of the PDP’s legacy of development. According to him, “Delta State is awash with projects, and it remains the face of the PDP in Nigeria. As a party, we are known for projects and good governance because every state you go to, you find similar projects.”
The Bauchi governor also commended his fellow PDP governors for their developmental efforts across their respective states, asserting that despite internal challenges, the PDP remains the preferred party for Nigerians. He reiterated the party’s grassroots appeal and its capacity to drive national development, adding, “We are connecting with our leaders across the country, and we are not just coming to talk; we learn from each other for the progress of our states.”
Governor Mohammed expressed gratitude to Governor Oborevwori and the people of Delta State for their hospitality and assured that the PDP would emerge stronger from its current challenges.
Welcoming his colleagues, Governor Oborevwori reaffirmed Delta State’s commitment to unity within the party and the nation. He described Delta as a microcosm of Nigeria, emphasizing that the state’s strength lies in its diversity. “What is more important is the unity of this nation, and I believe we will do our best to see how we will have unity in our party and in Nigeria,” he stated.
Among those present at the banquet were Governor Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), the host Governor Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Senator Douye Diri (Bayelsa), Governor Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom), Governor Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Governor Kefas Agbu (Taraba), Governor Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), Governor Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Deputy Governor of Oyo State Bayo Lawal, Deputy Governor of Delta State Sir Monday Onyeme, and the Acting National Chairman of the PDP, Umar Damagun.
Also in attendance were the PDP governorship candidate for Edo State, Asue Ighodalo, members of the National Assembly, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, and his Bayelsa counterpart, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere.
