Oyo State SUBEB Unveils List of 5,600 Newly Recruited Teachers and 80 Caregivers

IBADAN/Nigeria: The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has announced the recruitment of 5,600 primary school teachers and 80 caregivers, marking a significant step in bolstering the state’s educational workforce.

The Chairman of OYOSUBEB, Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, disclosed this development in Ibadan, noting that the list of successful candidates had received the formal approval of Governor ‘Seyi Makinde. Dr. Adeniran explained that the newly engaged educators and caregivers represent the first batch selected from the recent recruitment exercise conducted by the Board.

Aspiring candidates are advised to check their status by visiting the job portal at https://www.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng, where the list will be available from Saturday, 23rd November 2024.

The Chairman further highlighted that all successful applicants will undergo a verification process at the Board’s headquarters. Details concerning the dates for the verification exercise and additional instructions will be communicated to the selected candidates in due course.

Dr. Adeniran emphasised that the recruitment process was conducted with the utmost transparency, devoid of political, religious, ethnic, or gender bias, and strictly based on merit.

Addressing the newly recruited educators, he urged them to view their employment as a call to service. “This is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the educational development of our state. I implore you to be diligent, dedicated, and professional in your duties,” he stated.

The SUBEB Chairman also reassured the public that the recruitment exercise would continue, with more successful applicants being considered for employment in subsequent phases.

This announcement underscores the Oyo State Government’s commitment to improving the quality of education by ensuring that schools are adequately staffed with qualified personnel to meet the needs of pupils across the state.
