Osamuta Launches Empowerment Scheme for Ndokwa East Constituents
ABOH/Nigeria: Honourable Prince Emeke Osamuta, the Member representing Ndokwa East and Deputy Majority Whip of the Delta State House of Assembly, has launched the inaugural edition of his empowerment programme aimed at uplifting the socio-economic well-being of his constituents.
The initiative, titled “Building Sustainable Livelihood for Petty Traders and Youths,” was unveiled over the weekend and drew the attendance of party and community leaders from Ndokwa East Local Government Area.
A beneficiary of the Hon Osamuta’s Empowerment
The event featured the presentation of cash grants to approximately 200 beneficiaries, who expressed their gratitude and joy at receiving the financial assistance.
The gesture was in fulfilment of Osamuta’s campaign promises and aligned with the MORE agenda of Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
Speaking during the event, Osamuta thanked his constituents for their unwavering support of his office and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led administration.
He acknowledged the current challenges faced by residents due to the federal government’s increase in petroleum prices but assured them that the state government is working tirelessly to alleviate the resulting hardships.
Osamuta, who chairs the Assembly Committee on the Warri-Uvwie Development Agency and serves as Deputy Chairman of the House Committees on Health, Youth, and Sports, described the empowerment programme as a “social investment scheme.”
He explained that the beneficiaries were randomly selected from across the ten federal electoral wards in Ndokwa East, urging them to use the cash support to enhance their petty trades and improve their livelihoods.
Recognising the vastness of the constituency, the lawmaker promised that more people would benefit from future rounds of the support scheme, as he continues to ensure effective representation for Ndokwa East in the state legislature.
Osamuta paid tribute to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, for their guidance and encouragement, and thanked constituency leaders for their steadfast support. He pledged to continue delivering quality representation.
In his address, Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi, Member representing Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, commended Prince Osamuta for the initiative, noting that despite the tough economic conditions, the lawmaker has shown a strong commitment to improving the lives of his constituents.
Ezechi lauded Osamuta as a “younger brother” and expressed pride in his achievements.
Several other dignitaries, including Dr Charles Olise, the representative of Ndokwa Nation in DESOPADEC; former Delta State Commissioner Omordi George Ugboma; and Chief Vincent Osilonya, Chairman of Ndokwa East Local Government, also praised Osamuta for his dedication to serving the people.
They emphasised that the empowerment scheme was a clear demonstration of Osamuta’s hands-on approach to representation, which has brought much-needed development to Ndokwa East.
In their goodwill messages, the leaders assured the people that the dividends of democracy under the PDP administration would continue to reach the grassroots, urging them to maintain faith in the party.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude for the financial support, describing it as a significant boost to their businesses and livelihoods. They prayed for Osamuta’s continued success in his political career and personal endeavours.
The high point of the event was the formal presentation of cash gifts to the beneficiaries, marking a new chapter in efforts to improve the socio-economic landscape of Ndokwa East.
