ONE Urges Ndokwa to Leverage Oborevwori’s Leadership for Development
ASABA/Nigeria: The Organised Ndokwa Effort (ONE), an apolitical organization committed to the progress of Ndokwa people and their environment, has described the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as a pivotal opportunity to fast-track the development of the region.
In its 2025 New Year message, signed by Chairman Ossai Udom and Coordinator SVT. Rodney Odili Obi, the group commended the Governor’s calm and strategic leadership while urging the Ndokwa community to leverage the favorable political climate.
“With Ndokwa indigenes holding key positions such as Deputy Governor, Commissioner for Finance, and DESOPADEC Managing Director, the group emphasized the potential for collaboration to address the region’s economic and social challenges”.
Praising the Governor’s ability to maintain “calmness under pressure,” ONE described this leadership trait as essential for navigating the complex political landscape of Delta State. The group noted that this composure has fostered stability and unity, creating an environment conducive to progress.
They called on the Ndokwa people to seize the moment by aligning their developmental goals with the state government’s budgetary plans. Key projects, such as improving power transmission from the Okpai Independent Power Plant and securing federal backing for a concrete road project in Ndokwa East, were identified as critical to transforming the region and leaving a lasting legacy for the administration.
Acknowledging the government’s achievements in infrastructure development and the completion of inherited projects, ONE reminded the administration of the high public expectations for transformative outcomes. They urged the Governor to expedite impactful initiatives that could deliver immediate benefits. At the same time, they encouraged Ndokwa stakeholders to actively engage with the government to ensure the inclusion of their priorities in the state’s developmental framework.
As political dynamics shift towards the 2027 elections, ONE cautioned against internal divisions among the Ndokwa people, warning that such conflicts could erode their collective bargaining power. They called for unity and strategic collaboration to maintain the region’s political relevance and secure sustainable development. Reflecting on past experiences, the group emphasized the importance of loyalty to the administration and long-term planning to ensure the region’s continued progress.
ONE concluded by calling on the Ndokwa community to act decisively and collectively in leveraging the current political goodwill. They hailed Governor Oborevwori’s calm leadership as a model for navigating challenges and achieving transformative development. The group affirmed that the time to secure the future of Ndokwa is now, urging the people to rally behind the administration to make this era a defining chapter in the region’s history.
