Omonade Denounces False Report on Suspension from Delta State Assembly
ASABA/Nigeria: Matthew Onojighofia Omonade, Esq., the representative for Ughelli North One Constituency, has vehemently denied any involvement in an online report criticizing the Delta State government led by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori following his suspension from the State Assembly.
In a formal statement titled “RE: OMONADE’S SUSPENSION: WHO’S STILL DISPUTING DELTA IS UNDER CHOKE OF A KINDERGARTEN GOVT?”, Omonade expressed his dismay at the use of misleading tactics to politicize the situation.
“I read with deep consternation an online article written by one Zik Gbemre on May 27, 2024, which conveyed a toxic and incorrect narrative about the internal conflict within the Delta State House of Assembly,” Omonade stated. “As lawmakers, internal issues are inevitable and are meant to be resolved within the House.”
Omonade firmly declared, “I, Hon. Matthew Onojighofia Omonade, representing the good people of Ughelli North Constituency 1, did not authorize any public commentary on this matter. No one should exploit the situation for political gain. I am committed to peace and the well-being of my constituents.”
He emphasized that Gbemre’s article is based on “MERE SPECULATIONS” and does not reflect his views or the reality of the situation. “Gbemre’s opinion does not represent my sentiments or the true position of things. I am a pacifist and will always seek legitimate means to address issues.”
Omonade also clarified that he has no relationship with Gbemre and has never communicated with him. “I have never met or spoken to Zik Gbemre. He should have contacted me to understand the true state of affairs.”
Reaffirming his dedication to serving the people of Delta, Omonade concluded, “I am committed to working with my colleagues for the greater good of Deltans. Whatever motivated Gbemre’s tirade does not reflect my approach to issues. I appreciate those who have reached out to me. All is well.”
