OGWASHI-UKU/Nigeria: The political atmosphere in Delta State is witnessing renewed momentum as Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, CFR (KSJI), continues to galvanize support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Aniocha South and North Local Government Areas. His latest engagement with party leaders and stakeholders in Ogwashi-Uku and Issele-Uku has further solidified his influence in Delta North’s political landscape.
At Ogwashi-Uku, the APC Chairman of Aniocha South, Pastor Nobert Akachukwu Sochukwudimma, lauded Omo-Agege’s leadership, describing him as a leader who does not shy away from responsibility. “When he informed me of his visit, not just to meet his followers but to engage with those holding grievances, I knew he was a true leader,” he said. He expressed confidence that with Omo-Agege’s proven election-winning strategy, APC’s long-standing opposition status in the area could soon be overturned.
Echoing this sentiment, former Delta State Commissioner and APC House of Representatives candidate for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Dr. Tony Nwaka, hailed Omo-Agege as a “grassroots general” with an unmatched ability to mobilize people. “Politics is about connecting with the electorate. Having a tested leader like Senator Omo-Agege at the forefront is an advantage we must not overlook,” he remarked.
In his speech, Dr. Ifeanyi Odikpo urged Omo-Agege to prioritize genuine grassroots supporters over transactional politicians, while Dr. Antonia Ashiedu acknowledged past political miscalculations but reaffirmed her faith in his leadership. “Yes, he made some mistakes in 2023 by trusting the wrong people, but make no mistake, Omo-Agege is a political field marshal. If he runs in 2027, he will be a formidable force,” she stated.
The engagement at Issele-Uku further underscored the overwhelming support for Omo-Agege. Traditional dancers, led by The Owelle of Onicha-Olona, Hon. Chief Jerry Chukwuma Nkeweshe, welcomed him with a cultural display that reflected the people’s enthusiasm. Women from Onicha-Olona also performed in his honor, demonstrating their appreciation for his dedication to Delta State’s development.
As the APC continues to strengthen its presence in Delta North, political observers believe Omo-Agege’s strategic grassroots approach could shape the party’s electoral fortunes in the coming years. For his supporters, the message is clear: victory is not just within sight—it is achievable.
