Omo-Agege Hails Prof. Samuel Ibodje as Beacon of Intellect at 85
ABUJA/Nigeria: Former Deputy President of the 9th Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has extolled the virtues of renowned academic and Niger Delta elder statesman, Professor Samuel W. E. Ibodje, as he marks his 85th birthday.
In a personal tribute conveyed through his Media Adviser, Sunny Areh, Senator Omo-Agege described the former Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt as a towering figure of knowledge and wisdom whose life has inspired generations.
“You always have been, and always will be, the parental figure to everyone around the house. Your endless wisdom and great intellect can guide us through the darkest of paths into the light,” Omo-Agege stated.
He praised Professor Ibodje’s unwavering commitment to the development of the Niger Delta, describing him as a passionate advocate for justice, equity, and a fair deal for oil-producing communities in the Nigerian federation.
According to the Delta Central senator, Professor Ibodje has consistently stood for the protection of the rights of the region and the pursuit of special attention for its oil-rich but often neglected communities.
Senator Omo-Agege prayed for God’s continued grace, excellent health, and divine protection over the life of the eminent scholar and elder statesman.
