Okolie’s Representation Slammed by Aniocha/Oshimili Constituents

ASABA/Nigeria: The Concerned Citizens of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency have voiced their disappointment with Hon. Ngozi Lawrence Okolie, the representative of the constituency in the House of Representatives. In a strongly-worded statement, the group criticized Okolie’s performance since his assumption of office, describing it as a “catalogue of disappointments and disillusionment.”

The group outlined several grievances, starting with the legislator’s lack of visibility and engagement. They alleged that Okolie has been absent from the constituency, with no attempts to connect with the electorate or provide updates on his legislative activities. According to them, his absence has created a sense of abandonment among constituents.

The statement also highlighted the absence of developmental impact under Okolie’s tenure. The group claimed that no meaningful projects or programs have been initiated to address critical areas such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment.

Furthermore, they accused Okolie of failing to involve constituents in decision-making processes. They described his approach as aloof and insensitive, leaving the people feeling neglected and unrepresented.

In terms of leadership, the group lambasted Okolie’s alleged self-centeredness and lack of servant-leadership qualities. They argued that his actions prioritize personal interests over the collective good, painting a picture of a representative detached from the needs and aspirations of his people.

As a result of these grievances, the Concerned Citizens revealed they are considering a recall process to replace Okolie with someone they believe would be more accountable, transparent, and committed to the progress of the constituency.

The statement, signed by Comrade Jude Nkemchor, the group’s coordinator, and Mr. Christian Okeleke, its secretary, emphasized the need for a servant-leader who prioritizes the welfare of the people over personal ambition.

The group concluded with a call for action, urging the constituents of Aniocha/Oshimili to unite in demanding better representation in the National Assembly.
