Ojo Flags off Free Medical Treatment, Promises Free Eye Treatment
Umutu: The member representing the Ukwuani constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Alphonsus Ojo has carried out free medical treatment for the constituency members of Umutu, Ebedei, Umuaja, Owa Abbi, and Akoku in the Local Government Area, at the Umutu General Hospital.
Speaking at the event, Hon Ojo noted that as a medical Doctor, he decided to use his position to attract the Nigerian Medical Association, Delta State Chapter to his constituency for free medical treatment in order to complement the policies of the state government on health programme.
Hon Ojo while appreciating the large turn outs of the people said that such exercise will be used as a possible avenue to document the medical needs of the people to government, just as he promised to assist the people with serious eye problems with free treatment.
In an interview with the press, the chairman, NMA Delta state chapter, Dr. Otene said that the free medical treatment was part of the association medical week activities for the year and noted that Hon Ojo influenced their presence to Ukwuani LGA.
Dr Otene pointed out that the free medical treatment covered all areas such as eyes, malaria, hypertension treatment and other health problems urging the people of Ukwuani to make best use of the opportunity.
In his remark, the Peoples Democratic Party chairman in the LGA, Engr. Patrick Kaine lauded the efforts of Hon Ojo to bring the state medical association to carry out the free medical treatment and urged that other persons in government in area should find something that will lift the wellbeing of the people.
Also speaking were the community representatives of Umutu, one of the aides to Alphonsus Ojo, Mr Ibobo and the recipients, who lauded the efforts of the representative.
