Ogorugba Urges Synergy for Cleaner Isoko North
OZORO/Nigeria: The Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area, Delta State, Godwin Ogorugba, has called for a united effort between community leaders and residents to maintain cleanliness across the council area. This appeal was made during the monthly environmental sanitation exercise on Saturday in Ozoro, the council headquarters.
Ogorugba emphasized the importance of community participation in keeping the local government clean and habitable, saying, “I want to make a passionate appeal to all community leaders across the local government to sensitize their people to cooperate with the council in order to keep their environment clean and avoid indiscriminate disposal of refuse.”
The chairman outlined his vision for a cleaner Isoko North, stressing the need for collaboration to enforce environmental bylaws. He urged residents to adopt better waste disposal practices, clear their premises regularly, and avoid actions such as open defecation, contamination of drinking water, illegal structures, and trading under high-tension cables.
Reiterating the health benefits of a clean environment, Ogorugba stated, “Cleanliness is next to Godliness, so we must keep Isoko North clean to ensure healthy living for our people, which aligns with the MORE agenda of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State.”
He was joined during the inspection by officials, including the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Pascal Emeluaha, and other top council executives, in promoting a cleaner and safer environment for all residents.
