Ofa Extols Ibori @ 61, Says He Remains Inspiration to Deltans

SAPELE/Nigeria: A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Henry Ofa has congratulated former Delta State Governor, Chief James Ibori on the
occasion of his 61st birthday anniversary.
Ofa, an erstwhile member of the Delta State Post Primary Education Board, said Ibori has remained indispensable to Deltans despite leaving office about 12 years ago, noting that his love for good governance was a unifying factor among Deltans.
“Outside your governorship office, you have continued to remain a source of inspiration to us, your people, and a rallying point for national politics. Your peaceful initiatives across the Niger Delta region have cemented broken walls and healed the wounds of mutual distrust that once infested it”, he said in his congratulatory message to Chief.
According to him, “Ibori’s stint as Governor of the state saw numerous projects in all parts of the state, including the riverine communities
that were once thought impossible to develop”.
He said: “Men still relish your rare leadership excellence. Women yet savour your political dexterity. And the youths are joyfully learning the wonderful lesson of how you turned Delta State to a construction site and initiated the simultaneous development of multiple cities across the three senatorial districts of the state.”
“Asaba, Warri, Agbor, Ughelli, Sapele, Oghara, Abraka- all attest to your visionary leadership. The hitherto dark communities you connected to the national power grid and opened up for social and economic advancement will never stop singing your praises.” He added.
“You will be eternally remembered for the Omadino and Ase bridges as well as the imposing navigational bridge over River Raymos in Bomadi- all laid out in marshy terrains thought impossible to build on. Your immortality is also explicitly sealed in the establishment of the state owned polytechnics at Oghara, Ogwashi-Uku and Ozoro and the world class Delta State University Teaching Hospital, Oghara”.
Ofa prayed that God should grant the former Governor a good health and long life to consolidate on the good works he has started.
