Odior Applauds Passage of College of Health Technology Bill, Lauds Oborevwori

ASABA/Nigeria: The Majority Whip of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. (Barr.) Bernard Odior, has commended the swift passage of the College of Health Technology, Ovrode, Establishment Bill, describing it as a milestone for the development of his constituency, Isoko North.

The bill, which was read for the third time and passed during Tuesday’s plenary presided over by Speaker Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, was lauded by Odior as timely and significant. He expressed delight that the legislative process leading to the bill’s passage was concluded in less than three months after Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori forwarded it to the House for consideration.

Odior noted that the bill enjoyed unanimous support from lawmakers during its second reading, highlighting the quality and integrity of its provisions. He emphasized that the establishment of the College of Health Technology in Ovrode would bring far-reaching benefits to Delta State, particularly to the host community and its surroundings.

The lawmaker paid tribute to Governor Oborevwori and the State Executive Council for selecting Ovrode as the location for the institution. He also praised the Speaker and his colleagues for ensuring an accelerated legislative process that led to the bill’s passage in record time.

Expressing hope for the Governor’s prompt assent, Odior stated, “I must again thank His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for this initiative, which aligns perfectly with the development goals of my constituency. I also appreciate my colleagues, particularly the Speaker, for prioritizing this bill and ensuring its passage today, Tuesday, February 11, 2025.”

The Isoko North representative reaffirmed his commitment to fostering more transformative initiatives for his constituency.
