Ochor Ochor Applauds Delta State Local Government Election Process

UMUTU/Nigeria: The immediate past Deputy Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ochor Christopher Ochor has expressed his delight and satisfaction after participating in the Delta State Local Government Election held today, July 13, 2024
Ochor who voted at Unit 4, Ward 1, Umutu in Ukwuani Local Government Area, emphasised the significance of the election for the state’s democratic progress.
“I am delighted to have exercised my civic duty by voting in the Delta State Local Government Election today,” he stated.
“This election marks a significant moment for our state as we continue to strengthen our democratic processes and ensure that leadership at the local government level is reflective of the people’s will.”
He commended the high voter turnout and the orderly conduct of the election process, expressing optimism for the prospects of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in both the local government and across the state.
“The turnout and the orderly conduct of the election process have been commendable, and I am optimistic about the prospects for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in both our local government and across the state. Our party has consistently demonstrated a commitment to good governance and the well-being of our citizens, and I believe this will be reflected in the results of today’s election.”
He also praised the efforts of the State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, in upholding democratic principles. “I would like to extend my sincere praise to our State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for his unwavering dedication to democracy. His leadership and democratic drive have been instrumental in ensuring that the offices of the Chairman and Councilors are filled through a transparent and fair electoral process. This commitment to democratic principles is a testament to his vision for a stronger and more inclusive Delta State.”
As the state awaits the final results, Rt. Hon. Ochor called on all Deltans to support Governor Oborevwori’s efforts in delivering the democratic dividends necessary for the state’s development.
“As we await the final results, I appeal to all Deltans to continue supporting the Governor in his efforts to deliver the necessary democratic dividends to our people. Our collective support and cooperation are crucial in achieving the development and progress we all desire for our state.”
The election in the entire ward in the Local Government Area was observed to be peaceful at every pooling booth visited.
