Ochor Formally Submits Letter of Intent to Contest for DTHA Ukwuani Constituency Seat in 2019

OBIARUKU/Nigeria: The intrigues of those, and who among the rumoured aspirants that will be seeking for the Ukwuani Constituency seat in the Delta State House of Assembly, especially as it affects the person of Hon Christopher Ochor Ochor, had been finally settled with his final declaration, and submission of letter of intent to contest in the 2019, General Election, to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, LGA Executive.

In an event which was attended by party faithful, and friends from within and outside the LGA, on Sunday, August 19, 2018, in the party secretariat, Obiaruku, Hon Ochor throng by his wife, the Ethiope East Council Chairman, Hon Faith Majemite, former Commissioner of Lands and Survey, Bar. Ramos Guana, Barrister Benedicta Osakuni-Izugbu, Hon Solomon Ebinum, two serving Delta Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, the members of the Reality Campaign Organisation, youths and so many other well wishers, the House of Assembly hopeful, announced his decision to the gathered crowed of more than 200 supporters.

According to Hon Ochor, he concluded to take a run for the position after months and weeks of consultation with family members, friends, and party stakeholders.

He however reminded all that primaries are family affairs, and after the primaries, the party as one body will present one person to stand for the election.

In reading his letter of intent before handing it over to the LGA PDP Chairman, Engr Patrick Kaine, he gave reasons while he decided to formerly declare to run. According to him,

“I have duly consulted the Leadership, Executives and Members of our Party across the 10 electoral wards of Ukwuani Local Government Area on my aspiration.”

“I have also consulted Stakeholders outside the Local Government Area.”

“In all my consultations, I have received massive and overwhelming support.”

“Therefore accordingly it has becomes expedient for me to give the Party a formal notification.”

He stated that his mission among others if voted to represent the constituency will involve, Consultative Representation, Proactive Legislation, Youth Empowerment, Wealth Creation, Health Care for Senior Citizens, and Periodic Review of Activities in the LGA, which he clearly stated in his mission and vision.

“My mission is to use all inclusive consultations in aggregating the needs of Ukwuani people, facilitate and mobilise resources to meet the needs, and galvanize the implementation of programmes and projects of my party, PDP, through my Amiable Governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa-that will position Ukwuani Local Government Area to be the identified Hub of middle Delta.”

“My vision is to see Ukwuani Local Government Area become prosperous by harnessing the Economic and commercial opportunities that will be presented through deliberate proactive legislation, synergising with NGO’s and encourage collaborative relationship between Ukwuani Entrepreneurs, and Investors. An Ukwuani Local Government Area where youths will be actively involved in growing the economy to enviable level.”

Receiving the letter of intent from Hon Ochor, the LGA chairman, Engr. Patrick Kaine again reminded the various aspirants within the party that they are one family, and campaign of calumny should end.

“We are one family. After the primaries we will all join hand with the winner to win the constituency for our great party, PDP. Call your media aides to other.” He intoned.

The chairman further stated the party position on free and fair primaries, and asked all aspirants to go and campaign to those that will be delegates.

Hon Ochor also paid a courtesy visit to the traditionally ruler of Obiaruku community, known as the Okpala-Uku General, Enefe Agagarag, who gave him his endorsement.

Among documents submitted by Hon Ochor Ochor are his letter of resignation as an Executive Director on the Board of DESOPADEC, copies of his Manifesto and achievements from when he was commissioner for special duties.
