Oborevwori’s Legacy Projects Silencing Critics, Says Aniagwu

OSUBI/Nigeria: The Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, has stated that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s legacy projects have effectively silenced critics in the state.

Speaking during an inspection of the ongoing stormwater project aimed at addressing flooding in Okuokoko, Ugolo-Okpe, Osubi, and surrounding areas, Aniagwu highlighted the governor’s commitment to impactful and meaningful development across Delta State’s 25 local government areas.

“The governor’s preoccupation is to reply to critics with more projects,” Aniagwu said. “This storm drainage project is a clear demonstration of his resolve to build lasting legacies. It will control floodwater and address the menace of flooding that has plagued these areas for years, even during minor rainfall.”

The commissioner further cited similar efforts in Asaba, including the construction of storm drainage leading to the River Niger and the opening up of the waterfront in the capital territory. “These projects reflect the governor’s determination to deliver meaningful development that transforms lives,” he added.

During the inspection, Aniagwu urged contractors working on the Esezi Road dualization, the Orerokpe flood control measures, and the Orerokpe-Okuloho-Oviri-Okpe-Aragba Road to expedite their efforts and utilize the dry season effectively.

“Governor Oborevwori has made it clear that quality will not be compromised on the altar of friendship. Contractors must adhere to specifications outlined in the Bill of Engineering Measurement and Evaluation while increasing their pace to avoid disruptions during the rainy season,” Aniagwu emphasized.

The commissioner was accompanied by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sir Festus Ahon, and senior officials of the ministry during the inspection.
