During the courtesy call, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu commended the governor for appointing Sir Festus Ahon, a respected member of the Union, as his Chief Press Secretary. He further conveyed the Union’s request for the governor to select men and women with proven track records of performance, regardless of political affiliation, ethnic background, or religious inclination.

Ikeogwu urged Governor Oborevwori to implement programs and policies that would attract massive investments for the industrialization of Delta State, providing employment opportunities for the numerous unemployed youths. The Union encouraged the governor to create an enabling environment that would entice investors and capitalize on the state’s abundant resources. They also emphasized the need to focus on areas where Delta State possesses a comparative advantage in terms of natural resources and to channel efforts towards attracting the international community.
