Oborevwori to OFAAC: We’ll Preserve Culture, Strengthen Delta’s Unity

ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on Thursday reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to preserving the state’s rich cultural heritage, describing cultural festivals as vital tools for promoting identity and strengthening unity.
Speaking when he hosted the leadership of the Organization for the Advancement of Anioma Culture (OFAAC) at Government House, Asaba, Oborevwori praised the group’s two decades of dedication to promoting Anioma traditions and fostering peace among ethnic groups.
The Governor, who expressed deep appreciation to Delta North for their overwhelming support during the last election, assured that his administration would continue to deliver on socio-economic and infrastructural development across the senatorial district and the state at large.
“I commend OFAAC’s tirelessness and dedication to preserving Anioma culture and identity,” Oborevwori said. “As a government, we will continue to support initiatives that promote our festivals, language, and traditions, because they are crucial in shaping our collective identity.”
Oborevwori, who noted that his M.O.R.E Agenda was driving key projects across Anioma and beyond, charged other cultural organizations to emulate OFAAC’s commitment to unity and inclusiveness.
“I am proud that OFAAC invites other ethnic groups to its celebrations. This is the spirit of unity we need in Delta State,” he said. “You have stood by this administration, and we will stand by you.”
Earlier, OFAAC President, Arc. Kester Ifeadi, said the courtesy visit was to brief the Governor on the group’s forthcoming cultural fiesta slated for Easter Monday. He described Oborevwori as a detribalized leader whose even spread of projects across the state had earned him wide respect.
He assured the Governor of the Anioma people’s continued support for the successful implementation of the M.O.R.E Agenda, promising that OFAAC would remain a strong partner in advancing the unity and development of Delta State.
