Oborevwori Tackles Governance with Commitment to Infrastructure and Development – Aniagwu

ASABA/Nigeria: The Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural and Riverine Roads), Mr Charles Aniagwu, has affirmed that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is approaching governance with unparalleled seriousness, focusing on fulfilling his campaign promises through the MORE Agenda.

Speaking during a live national television program monitored in Asaba, Aniagwu highlighted the Governor’s commitment to delivering meaningful development and addressing critical infrastructural challenges across the state.

“Governor Oborevwori has prioritized the completion of ongoing projects and the initiation of new ones, particularly those with significant impact across the three senatorial districts,” Aniagwu stated. He pointed to the nearly completed Beneku Bridge, which connects Ndokwa West to Ndokwa East, as a testament to the administration’s focus. “The Governor has directed the contractor to revisit the site to ensure the bridge’s aesthetics and proper finishing, making it a landmark project.”

Aniagwu also referenced the progress of the 139km Ughelli-Asaba dual carriageway, which he described as moving at an impressive pace. Additionally, he spotlighted the 20km stormwater drainage project in Osubi, Okuokoko, and Ugolo-Okpe, aimed at mitigating flooding in Delta’s flood-prone areas.

“The project involves over 4km of underground sewer, surface drains, and trapezoidal channels designed to effectively channel floodwater into the Agbarho River and onward to the Atlantic Ocean,” Aniagwu explained. “This initiative will save homes from submersion, make more land available for development, and enhance the region’s overall growth.”

He noted that similar stormwater drainage projects have been successfully completed in Ika North East, underscoring Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to ensuring equitable development across the state.

“The Governor’s focus is firmly on governance and improving the livelihoods of Deltans rather than on politics. His love for the people is evident in his dedication to addressing issues such as flooding, road construction, and other critical infrastructure projects,” Aniagwu concluded.

The Commissioner emphasized that Governor Oborevwori’s administration will continue to work tirelessly to implement projects and policies that enhance the quality of life for residents, especially during these challenging times.
