Oborevwori Says N78 Billion Infrastructure Boost Flyovers, Cloverleaf, and Road Expansion Projects Set to Commence

ASABA/Nigeria: In a significant development for the infrastructure landscape in Delta State, Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori announced that the eagerly awaited N78 billion flyovers, cloverleaf, and road expansion projects in Effurun and Warri are poised to kick off. The governor revealed that the renowned construction firm, Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, has been fully mobilized, with 25 percent of the total contract sum already allocated.

Governor Oborevwori assured that the groundbreaking event for these transformative projects is scheduled between November and early December, following the completion of all essential preliminary work. Speaking to journalists during an inspection tour of the recently completed Boji-Boji Mixed Market in Ika North-East Local Government Area, the governor stated:

“We have mobilized Julius Berger with 25 percent of the total contract sum, and they are doing the drawings, soil tests, and all the necessary preliminary works now.”

He went on to express confidence in meeting the project timelines, stating, “Very soon, between now and the first week of next month (December), we will have the groundbreaking ceremony because everything is in top gear, and we are going to keep to all our promises.”

Governor Oborevwori took the opportunity to acknowledge the positive sentiment among Deltans towards the ongoing initiatives, emphasizing the peaceful state of affairs. He also commended the immediate past Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, for initiating the Boji-Boji Mixed Market project, which includes 120 shops and a modern abattoir. The governor applauded the contractor for delivering a commendable job, stating:

“The good thing about it is that the contractor has done a very good job.”

In his commitment to quality governance, Governor Oborevwori highlighted the importance of thorough inspections before commissioning any project. Regarding the completed Boji-Boji Mixed Market, he affirmed:

“I know that the people of Ika North East will be very happy for this project, and I thank the immediate past governor for initiating the project which has been completed during my tenure.”

Addressing other crucial matters, the governor reassured the public of his administration’s dedication to workers’ welfare. He pledged to complete the payment of promotion arrears by the end of November and disclosed additional support measures, including monthly payments of N10,000 to workers for three months. These efforts aim to cushion the impact of economic challenges resulting from the removal of fuel subsidies by the Federal Government.
