Oborevwori Reaffirms Delta’s Commitment to Oil Sector Stability

ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has assured oil and gas companies of a secure investment environment in the state, pledging full government support for their operations.

Speaking Thursday in Asaba while receiving executives of Renaissance Africa Energy Company,  the new owners of Shell’s shares in the NNPC/SPDC/TOTAL/AGIP Joint Ventures — Oborevwori emphasized the need for strong partnerships that deliver value to both investors and host communities.

“I assure you that Delta is one of the most peaceful states in the South-South today. Your investments are safe, and we will give you total support because as you succeed, the state also succeeds,” Oborevwori said, stressing the importance of building trust with local communities to ensure smooth operations.

The Governor, drawing from his past experience as a community leader liaising with oil companies, said he believes in dialogue over confrontation, adding that Delta currently holds the position as Nigeria’s highest oil-producing state.

Chairman of Renaissance Africa Energy Company, Dr. Layi Fatoma, and the Managing Director/CEO, Engr. Tony Attah, thanked the Governor for his support. They pledged to drive energy security from the Niger Delta and across Africa, aligning their operations with the Governor’s MORE Agenda.

Attah expressed optimism that, as a 100 per cent Nigerian-owned company with Delta roots, Renaissance Africa Energy would enjoy even greater collaboration than Shell experienced in the past.
