Oborevwori on Course for Smooth Second Term Ride, Says Oghenesivbe
LAGOS/Nigeria: Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, is well positioned for a smooth re-election in 2027, buoyed by his monumental achievements that are expected to expand before the next general elections.
The Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Communications and Orientation, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, gave this assurance during an interview with Radio Nigeria Correspondent in Lagos on Friday.
Oghenesivbe said Governor Oborevwori’s patriotism, credible leadership, political bridge-building skills, and sterling performance have endeared him to the people, making him a likely consensus governorship candidate in 2027. He emphasized that Deltans are eager to sustain the unprecedented level of development under the Oborevwori administration.
Highlighting strides in the power sector, Oghenesivbe noted that the governor recently signed the State Power Sector Bill into law to boost electricity supply across the three senatorial districts, stressing that power remains a major driver of economic growth.
He assured that the government would diligently pursue the power sector agenda to completion within Governor Oborevwori’s current tenure.
Oghenesivbe also pointed to infrastructure development as a priority, citing the reconstruction of the Ughelli-Asaba highway and the upgrading of the Warri Township Stadium into a world-class facility, which he said has created and will continue to create thousands of jobs for Deltans.
He expressed optimism that the completed Warri Stadium would not only produce top athletes for national and international competitions but also serve as a major revenue generator for the state.
The Bureau Chief maintained that Governor Oborevwori remains committed to fulfilling his election promises and noted that it is too early to engage heavily in politics. He assured that when the time is right, Deltans would rally behind their performing governor for a second term.
“Governor Oborevwori is a man of few words, meticulous and result-oriented. His primary focus is delivering more dividends of democracy to the people,” Oghenesivbe said.
“Infrastructure, socioeconomic remodeling, and sustainable growth are his priorities. His leadership style, marked by humility and vision, has consistently earned him multiple awards and accolades,” he added.
He emphasized that Governor Oborevwori is currently preoccupied with inspecting and commissioning projects across the state, rather than playing politics.
“And I dare to say that come 2027, Governor Oborevwori may emerge as the consensus candidate because of the satisfaction Deltans have with his legacy projects, prudent management of resources, and visionary leadership,” Oghenesivbe concluded. “Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is on duty till May 29, 2031.”
