Oborevwori Mourns Victims of Agbor Tanker Explosion
ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic tanker explosion that occurred on Sunday in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area.
The incident, caused by a diesel tanker that reportedly suffered brake failure and fell at a traffic light junction, led to an explosion that claimed four lives and left three others injured. The ensuing inferno destroyed properties in the area, leaving the community in shock.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori described the incident as horrifying. He extended his prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured and strength for the bereaved families to bear the loss.
The governor directed the State Ministry of Health, the State Emergency Management Agency, and other relevant authorities to provide immediate support to all victims of the tragedy. He commended the Fire Service, local residents, and security agencies for their swift response in combating the blaze and assisting those affected.
Governor Oborevwori reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that adequate measures are put in place to prevent similar occurrences, while urging the public to remain vigilant and prioritize safety on the roads.
