ASABA/Nigeria: Saturday witnessed a joyous occasion as Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, accompanied by his wife, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, joined the families of Hon Oboro Preyor and Sir Godwin Ohwoekevwo in celebrating the solemnization of the Holy Matrimony between their children, Barr. Tarelayefa Preyor and Dr George Ohwoekevwo, now Dr and Barr (Mrs) George Ohwoekevwo. The Wedding Ceremony took place at the Living Faith Church, Winners Chapel, Ibusa road Asaba, and saw the attendance of dignitaries from various strata of society, including the business and political class.
The bride, Tarelayefa, is the first daughter of Hon Oboro Preyor, the immediate past Deputy Majority Leader and Member representing Bomadi State Constituency in the Delta Assembly, while the groom, Dr George Ohwoekevwo, holds the prestigious position of Speaker of the Delta State Youth Parliament. This explained the presence of almost all the 29 Parliamentarians representing the various constituencies in the Youth Assembly at the event.
During the service, the Resident Pastor of the Living Faith Church, Pastor Chris Nwaka, delivered a message titled “Communication in Marriage.” He emphasized the significance of communication and intimacy in a successful marriage, urging Dr and Mrs George Ohwoekevwo to prioritize effective communication to ensure a strong and prosperous union.
The Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor, the Deputy Speaker, Arthur Akpowhowho, the Majority Leader, Emeka Nwaobi, and two other Lawmakers, Emmanuel Sinebe and Festus Utuama, congratulated the couple and their families, offering prayers for a blessed and harmonious marriage. They also encouraged the newlyweds to prioritize staying close to each other and nurturing open communication.
The parents of the bride, Hon Oboro Preyor and Mrs Campaign Preyor, as well as their son, Mr Ebizimor Preyor, expressed their emotions during interviews, conveying their love and blessings for the newly married couple. Similarly, the groom’s father, Sir Godwin Ohwoekevwo, looked to God for blessings upon the union.
Dr and Barr (Mrs) George Ohwoekevwo expressed their gratitude to God for their union and pledged to seek His guidance in their marital journey. They reassured everyone that the love that brought them together would continue to flourish with God’s active involvement.
The highlight of the event was the exchange of marital vows and rings, which left guests in admiration. Following the ceremony, a reception was held in their honor at the Cresendo Event Center, off Mariam Babangida road, Asaba. The reception featured cutting of the wedding cake, couple’s dance, comedy, musical entertainment, and the presentation of gifts.
The celebration brought together prominent figures from various spheres of society, making it a memorable and significant event for all involved.
