Oborevwori Honored as 2024 Integrity Man of the Year

ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has been conferred with the prestigious 2024 Integrity Man of the Year Award at the Integrity Group Leadership Summit and Awards held in Asaba on Wednesday.

The award was presented in recognition of the governor’s commitment to the socio-economic transformation of Delta State. Represented by the Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Comrade Reuben Izeze, Governor Oborevwori expressed gratitude for the honor and reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to the state’s development.

Governor Oborevwori highlighted the impact of his administration’s policies and programs, emphasizing initiatives such as free healthcare for pregnant women, children under five, and the elderly, as well as empowerment programs aimed at fostering economic growth. He thanked Deltans for their unwavering support and urged them to remain patient and committed to the state’s progress.

“I appeal to you to judge us by the promises we made, not by rhetoric,” the governor said. “The MORE Agenda is our roadmap, guiding every step we take toward building a future that reflects our shared aspirations.”

Prince Obaro Unuafe, speaking on the summit’s theme, “Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda in Delta: A Way of Life,” described the agenda as a transformative policy reshaping Delta State. He praised Governor Oborevwori’s leadership as unifying and inspiring, noting that the agenda’s effects are evident in the lives it has touched and the communities it has reshaped.

Dr. Oke Idawene, the convener of the summit, hailed the governor’s administration as a divine project. He commended the MORE Agenda’s remarkable achievements across multiple sectors, including security, economic development, capacity building, and healthcare. Dr. Idawene also noted the administration’s success in empowering youths and supporting women, calling Governor Oborevwori’s leadership unparalleled.

The event featured discussions on entrepreneurship and security, led by Dr. Donald Peterson, Special Adviser to the Governor on Entrepreneurial Development, and SP Bright Edafe, Police Public Relations Officer of the Delta State Command.

During the ceremony, Commissioner for Housing Hon. Godknows Angele was named Commissioner of the Year, and the Integrity Group unanimously endorsed Governor Oborevwori for a second term, citing his transformative achievements and visionary leadership.
