Oborevwori Fulfilling Campaign Promises, Advancing Delta’s Development – Aniagwu

By Marian Kogolo

ASABA/Nigeria: Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, has reaffirmed that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is delivering on the promises he made to Deltans during the 2023 electioneering campaign.

Speaking on Trend Talk, a broadcast program on Trend FM, Aniagwu highlighted the governor’s achievements across various sectors, including road construction, healthcare, security, and education. He noted that Oborevwori, in his inaugural speech on May 29, 2023, pledged to construct roads, revamp hospitals, and prioritize development in Warri and other parts of the state.

According to Aniagwu, the governor has sustained over 370 inherited projects while initiating and completing new ones. He cited key infrastructure projects such as the Okpanam/Ibusa bypass, multiple flyovers, internal road networks, and the renovation of over 150 health facilities across Delta State. Addressing concerns about Warri’s special attention, the Commissioner described the city as Delta’s business hub and a major source of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), emphasizing that investments in Warri benefit all Deltans.

On security, Aniagwu outlined the governor’s initiatives, including the donation of 31 operational vehicles to ‘Delta Sweep,’ a multi-agency security outfit, the construction of access roads for quick response, and the state’s campaign against drug abuse led by the State Orientation Bureau. He stressed that community involvement is key to security and urged parents to instill the right values in their children, warning against the dangers of the “get-rich-quick” mentality.

In education, Aniagwu stated that Delta is shifting focus to practical-based learning through the establishment of more technical schools. He explained that this approach aims to equip students with skills to be self-reliant and provide basic necessities such as food, shelter, and clothing, countering the notion that “school is a scam.”

The Commissioner reiterated that the Oborevwori administration remains committed to the MORE Agenda, ensuring sustainable development, security, and prosperity for all Deltans.
