NYSC Coordinator Hails Isoko South Chairman for Commitment to Corps Members

OLEH/Nigeria: The Delta State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), John Vandi Kwaghe, has commended the Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area, Friday Ovoke Warri, for his visionary leadership and unwavering support for corps members serving in the council.
During a courtesy visit to the chairman’s office in Oleh, the headquarters of Isoko South, on Thursday, Kwaghe lauded Warri’s developmental strides and his fatherly role in ensuring the welfare of corps members. He noted that Isoko South was the second local government he had officially visited since assuming office in Delta State, aside from Aniocha North, which hosts the state’s NYSC permanent orientation camp.
Kwaghe expressed gratitude for the chairman’s hospitality and acknowledged the positive feedback he had received regarding Warri’s leadership. He emphasized the importance of such support in fostering a conducive environment for corps members.
“I am here to appreciate the chairman for his swift donations of materials to NYSC members in Isoko South. We are grateful for making their short stay remarkable. You have shown them a fatherly figure, ensuring they feel at home despite coming from different parts of the country,” Kwaghe stated.
He further appealed for continued support, including the provision of basic amenities and opportunities for corps members to engage in cultural and social activities.
In response, Chairman Warri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of corps members, describing them as integral to the community’s growth and development.
“We are partners in progress, and we will do everything within our power to care for the corps members posted to Isoko South. I must commend you for posting a medical doctor among them, but as Oliver Twist, we ask for more. We expect more professional corps members in our local government,” Warri remarked.
The chairman also praised a corps member who recently executed a community development service (CDS) project at St. Michael’s College, Oleh, where he provided a hand pump borehole water system and a volleyball court. Warri stated that if he had the authority, he would have retained the corps member with immediate employment, underscoring his administration’s commitment to supporting the NYSC scheme in Isoko South.
