Nwoko’s Communications Director Slams Nwaoboshi’s Remarks, Calls for Accountability
ABUJA/Nigeria: The Director of Communications for Senator Ned Nwoko, Hon. Gloria Okolugbo, has criticized Senator Peter Nwaoboshi for his recent remarks, describing them as delusional and rooted in outdated political entitlement.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Okolugbo expressed disappointment that Nwaoboshi, following his incarceration, has failed to embrace humility or engage in meaningful reflection. Instead, she accused him of clinging to an archaic belief that the political future of Delta North can be manipulated to suit his personal agenda.
“It is regrettable that Senator Nwaoboshi continues to indulge in delusions of grandeur rather than demonstrating remorse and introspection,” Okolugbo said. She emphasized that Nwaoboshi’s track record as a “contractor senator,” prioritizing personal gain over public service, stands in stark contrast to Senator Nwoko’s visionary and progressive leadership.
Okolugbo lauded Nwoko’s achievements in philanthropy, human capacity development, and legislative contributions, including his global efforts to eradicate malaria. She noted that these milestones highlight the qualities of accountability, integrity, and genuine service that the people of Delta North now demand from their leaders.
“The claim of being ‘politically, financially, and educationally superior’ to Senator Nwoko is not only laughable but also reflects a fundamental misunderstanding of what leadership entails,” she added, stressing that leadership is defined by tangible achievements and public good, not by ego or political theatrics.
Okolugbo urged Nwaoboshi to focus on rehabilitating his image and fostering unity in Delta North rather than sowing seeds of discord or attempting to rewrite history. She asserted that the people of Delta North have moved beyond backdoor politicking and empty rhetoric, embracing a new era of leadership rooted in accountability and development.
“The days of manipulation and mediocrity are over. Delta North deserves forward-thinking leadership, and it is high time Senator Nwaoboshi came to terms with this reality,” Okolugbo concluded.
The statement underscores the growing demand for transparency and progressive leadership in Delta North, with Senator Nwoko’s office reiterating its commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
