Nwaoboshi’s Divisive Tactics Undermining APC’s Progress in Delta North – Okolugbo

ASABA/Nigeria: Hon. Gloria Okolugbo, the Director of Communications for the Office of Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, has raised concerns over the actions and rhetoric of Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, which she described as counterproductive to the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s efforts to strengthen its base in Delta State. According to her, Nwaoboshi’s approach undermines the strides being made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other committed members to foster unity and progress within the party.

Okolugbo lauded President Tinubu’s visionary leadership, which prioritizes the inclusion of formidable and result-oriented politicians in the APC. She highlighted Senator Ned Munir Nwoko as a clear example, describing him as a serving senator whose political clout, national influence, and legislative excellence position him as an invaluable asset to the party. However, she criticized Nwaoboshi for failing to embrace this opportunity, instead resorting to divisive tactics that weaken the party’s prospects in Delta North.

She noted that under Nwaoboshi’s leadership, the APC in Delta North suffered significant electoral setbacks, which she attributed to a leadership style driven by personal ambition rather than collective progress. “Rather than building the party, Nwaoboshi’s tenure was marked by stagnation and a lack of strategic direction,” Okolugbo stated. In contrast, she praised Senator Nwoko’s unwavering commitment to addressing critical national issues, including malaria eradication, sustainable energy solutions, and waste recycling, emphasizing his ability to drive meaningful change both legislatively and politically.

Okolugbo urged Nwaoboshi to recognize the winds of change within the APC and adopt a statesmanlike role in welcoming Senator Nwoko to the fold. “Nwoko’s influence and vision can rejuvenate the party and reverse its declining fortunes in Delta North,” she said. She cautioned that clinging to outdated leadership practices would only alienate party faithful and undermine President Tinubu’s efforts to fortify the APC.

She further stressed that the APC in Delta North stands at a critical juncture, where the choice is clear: embrace visionary leadership and inclusive politics or remain trapped in a cycle of defeat and division.

“President Tinubu’s efforts to build a stronger APC must not be sabotaged by outdated leadership,” Okolugbo added, calling on Nwaoboshi to prioritize the collective good over personal ambition.

According to Okolugbo, the path forward requires collaboration and unity. She expressed confidence that if Nwaoboshi sets aside personal pride and works with Senator Nwoko, the APC could achieve unprecedented heights in Delta North and beyond.

“This is a time for progress, and anything less is a disservice to the party and its vision for a better Nigeria,” she concluded.
