NUJ Delta Council Congratulates Nkem Nwaeke on Appoint as CPS

ASABA/Nigeria:  leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) congratulated Mr.  Nkem Nwaeke on his appointment as the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor.

In a letter signed by Comrade Churchill Oyowe, Chairman, and Comrade Victor Sorokwu, State Secretary, the council expressed delight, emphasizing the significance of the Speaker’s choice. They noted that Nwaeke’s designation marks the elevation of an esteemed member—an extensively skilled and seasoned journalist—to the prestigious position of principal media aide.

Nwaeke, currently serving as an Assistant General Manager at the Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS), Warri, boasts over 15 years of dedicated coverage of the state legislature. His experience solidifies his role as a reservoir of knowledge concerning the affairs and operations of the House of Assembly.

The NUJ Delta Council voiced unwavering confidence in Nwaeke’s ability to leverage his vast experience as a versatile journalist and influential media practitioner. They expect his tenure to bring about a positive transformation in the coverage of state legislative matters.

In extending gratitude, the council also commended Speaker Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor for his decision, highlighting his commitment to engaging media professionals based on local content principles. They noted his alignment with the exemplary footsteps of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori in this regard.

Nwaeke, a former Secretary of the NUJ, DBS, Warri Chapel, holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree in Mass Communication from the Delta State University, Abraka, and is recognized as a devoted family man.
