NSC Director-General Bukola Olopade Commends Niger Delta Sports Festival Organizers

UYO/Nigeria: The Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Bukola Olopade, on Monday made an unscheduled visit to the office of the Main Organising Committee (MOC) of the Niger Delta Sports Festival (NDSF) on the eve of the festival’s official opening ceremony.
Olopade, dressed in an elegant traditional outfit, was received on arrival by Itiako Ikpokpo, Co-Chairman of the MOC and lead consultant at Dunamis Icon, the event organizers. Expressing his admiration for the work done so far, Olopade described the festival as a significant milestone for Nigerian sports. “I am very proud of what you guys have achieved here, and it is a pointer to a new dawn in the nation’s sports. At the National Sports Festival, we will look to collaborate with you on some of the innovations that have been noted in your management of the Niger Delta Sports Festival,” said Olopade, who previously served as Commissioner for Sports when Ogun State hosted the National Sports Festival.
Ikpokpo, in his remarks, thanked the NSC Director-General for his visit and acknowledged the support the project had received from NSC Chairman Shehu Dikko and Olopade himself. “Your visit on the eve of the official opening ceremony is a huge boost, and we are indeed encouraged. On behalf of the team, I wish to extend, through you, our appreciation of the President’s acceptance to flag off the festival. We look forward to receiving Mallam Dikko, who will be representing the President,” Ikpokpo stated.
