Novena University Bestows Honorary Doctorate on Governor Oborevwori for Transformational Governance

AMAI/Nigeria: Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, received an honorary Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) in Public Policy and Strategy from Novena University, Ogume, during its 5th combined convocation ceremony on Saturday at the Amai campus in Ukwuani Local Government Area.

The award celebrates Governor Oborevwori’s impactful leadership and developmental strides under his M.O.R.E. Agenda. “This honor strengthens my resolve to advance Delta State through sustainable policies and programs,” the governor remarked. He outlined achievements in road infrastructure, youth empowerment, and economic interventions that have benefitted over 200,000 citizens.

Oborevwori commended the university’s leadership, led by Pro-Chancellor Chuks Ochonogor, for prioritizing education and youth development. “Your commitment to shaping the future through quality education is truly inspiring,” he said, lauding Novena University’s role as a pioneer private institution in Delta State.

The ceremony featured speeches from dignitaries, including Chancellor HRM King Alfred Diete-Spiff, who emphasized visionary leadership in nation-building, and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Godwin Nduka, who celebrated the university’s 20 years of academic excellence.

Delta State Deputy Governor Sir Monday Onyeme was among those honored at the event, receiving a Master’s degree in Accounting.
