NNU Election Postponed, to Hold Congress
The scheduled election to elect a new executive to run the affairs of the Ndokwa Neku Union (NNU), on the Saturday, 26 March 2016, had been postponed to further notice.
However, there will be an Extra Ordinary Congress at Utagba Ogbe Grammar School, Kwale, Ndokwa west to discuss the way forward for the body, and when election will be held.
According to our reporter, the agreement to postpone the election, was taken after the electoral committee Chairman, Dr. Austin Atimo and Pharm. Paul Enebeli held a meeting that was chaired by Senator Patrick Osakwe.
The postponement of the election is not unconnected with the unsettled issues of rancour within the pharm. Paul Enebeli led Executive and the setting up of an electoral committee when the formal failed to organise a national congress that would had brought in a new executive.
Prior to the postponement, a group comprising the Warri branch and Abuja branch and the Board of Trustees (BOT) of NNU, and some eminent Ndokwa sons and daughters to seek for shifting in date had attracted a lot of criticism and bad blood towards the group, which resulted in several publications between the group and the Electoral Committee.
However, Ndokwa Reporters, can authoritatively report that even among the candidates, especially the ones who are to contest for the President-General, (PG), many were not disposed for the election to hold till all the issues affecting the election of a new executive is resolved, including the issue of the case of Mr Marcus Enudi who had gone to court seeking to stop the body from declaring his post as the national youth leader vacant.
Am still not comfortable and satisfy with the postpoment of the NNU elections, if i may ask, who were the people that set up the electorial committee in the first place? And why is it always that in a time like this the PG of the organisation will not be willing to vacate the office? It happened in a the time of prof. Steve okecha, now its about to happen again in the time of pharm. Paul enebeli. Why are we this way? That if somebody enters, it will become difficult for another person to succeed him, is this our way of life (culture)? May God forbide bad thing!
