KWALE/Nigeria: The President General of the Ndokwa Neku Union (NNU), Brigadier General Mike Ndubisi (Rtd), has distanced himself and his executive council from the announcement of the postponement of the 2025 NNU general elections, describing the information circulated on social media as unauthorized and procedurally flawed.
In a statement addressing the Ndokwa people, Ndubisi emphasized that the decision to postpone the elections was not approved by the NNU leadership and was disseminated without due consultation. He assured the public that necessary steps were being taken to clarify the situation, including a crucial joint meeting between the NNU Executive Council and the 2025 Electoral Committee scheduled for today.
“Following wide consultations with respected Ndokwa stakeholders, the NNU Executive held an emergency virtual meeting last night, where it was resolved that a joint meeting with the NNU 2025 Electoral Committee would be held at 10 am today to address all grey areas,” Ndubisi stated. He assured that further updates on the rescheduled electoral process would be communicated promptly.
The NNU leader commended the overwhelming interest shown by Ndokwa sons and daughters in the ongoing electoral process, describing it as a testament to the trust and confidence the people have in the Union. He reaffirmed his commitment to conducting a credible and transparent election before the expiration of his administration’s tenure on February 13, 2025.
“As the tenure of my administration ends on February 13, 2025, I assure the good people of Ndokwa Nation that the general elections to elect my successors WILL hold on or before that date,” Ndubisi affirmed.
The NNU elections remain a pivotal event in the governance of the Ndokwa people, and the unfolding developments are expected to shape the leadership trajectory of the Union in the coming years.
