NIMC Calls On Eligible Residents to Enrol Into National Identity Database

ASABA/Nigeria: The Federal Government through National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has started the enrolment of all Nigerians and legal residents from age 0 and above into the National Identity Database.
A statement signed by the Director of Information, Mr Paul Osahor, said the Federal Government had in January 2019, made the use of National Identity Number (NIN) a mandatory requirement for accessing most government services.
The statement said that the National Identity Management Commission was poised to reach out and enroll all eligible Nigerians in every community across the 774 local government areas in the federation to ensure they were registered.
It therefore requested all local government chairmen, traditional rulers and chairmen of town unions in the state to sensitize and ensure that residents within their domains participate into the exercise.
