New NNPP Kaduna State Executive Committee Emerges After Court-Ordered Reorganization

KADUNA/Nigeria: A new executive committee for the Kaduna State chapter of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) has been constituted following a landmark ruling by the Abia State High Court.

The judgment, referenced as Suit No. HUZ/11/2024, directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to transfer the party’s administration to its Board of Trustees (BOT), chaired by Dr. Boniface Okechikwu Aniebonam, as stipulated in the NNPP Constitution (2022, as amended).

The announcement was made in a statement signed by the NNPP Kaduna State Publicity Secretary, Babale Gwalo, after the state congress held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Aso Motel, Kaduna.

“We are adhering to directives from the national secretariat of our great party NNPP,” the statement read, referencing a memo from National Secretary Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday dated December 26, 2024, which confirmed INEC’s notification of the congress dates and venues.

During the event, Barrister Steve Adamu of Steve Adamu and Associates administered the oath of office to the newly elected executives.

In his acceptance speech, the new State Chairman, Abubakar Abdullahi, pledged to uphold the party’s manifesto and work toward securing a strong performance in the 2027 general elections.

The newly elected executive includes:

  • Chairman: Abubakar Abdullahi
  • Deputy Chairman: Dennis V.A. Kachiro
  • Secretary: Philibus Dauda Ladan
  • Deputy Secretary: Com. Usman Abdulhamid
  • Zonal Vice Chairmen: Tukur Zubairu (Zone 1), Ahmad Hassan (Zone 2), and James Garba (Zone 3)

Other key positions filled are Legal Adviser Kennedy Daniel Tizhe, Treasurer Tasi’u Ya’u, Publicity Secretary Babale Gwalo, and State Women Leader Cecilia Dzingina. Positions for youth leadership, welfare, and ex-officio roles were also confirmed, ensuring representation across all senatorial zones.

The congress marks a new chapter for the NNPP in Kaduna State as it aims to strengthen its grassroots presence and prepare for upcoming political challenges.
